Today, usually two separate wireless communications systems are in place to serve the needs of commercial applications on the one hand and critical communications, often referred to as public safety, on the other hand. This is due to the very different requirements for both systems. The vast success of LTE/LTE-Advanced becoming the wireless communications standard for delivery of mobile broadband data and high-definition (HD) voice has led to a commitment of governmental authorities to select LTE as the underlying technology for their next-generation public safety networks. At this panel we will explore if the technology is ready, if not what is missing. How the eco-system for LTE for public safety is shaping up. These and other question will be answered during the discussion.
