5G Numerologies and Frame Structures

The 5G radio access network is designed to be extremely flexible, supporting different use cases including extreme mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine type communications (mMTC) and ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC). Supporting opposing design constraints from high bandwidth to low latency, for example, 5G NR requires an entirely new frame structure to support these diverse needs. In this short 5-minute video, wireless technology manager, Reiner Stuhlfauth, explains the key aspects behind this new technology.
